Game Info

They are Contained is my very first RPG Maker MV game!! Well, the first one I ever made a proper ending to! It was mostly made as a test of my abilities from starting to first mess with the engine back in late 2021.

People may notice how it shares a similar name with my scrapped YNFG: This was intentional! They are Contained came about before the YNFG was ever conceived- I wanted to bring to life a character that is suffering and give them their own game in "They are Confined" but...things just didn't pan out that way.

I had a rough idea for THIS game, however, dating back in (you guessed it!) my rpg maker FES for the 3ds days. The idea of "something" or "someone" living in your home without your knowledge was a major factor in bringing this game to fruition/theme at it's core.



It's very basic, and uses rtp- but I feel like that's ok in any regard! Especially as I was still figuring out the ropes of the engine.

There's plenty to inspect in the game- my favorite thing to do is add lots of flavor-text to all sorts of items and such (:

As for the game itself...You play as a snarky middle-schooler who just got home from school. He's been hearing rather eerie sounds at night, and doesn't know what to make of it. One evening, however...things all change...

And yet...why does it all seem so familiar?

I wanted to make a game that was mostly eerie and unsettling rather than straight up horror, I think. Manipulation and captivity of another human sounded so awful and horrific in it's own right, I felt like I wanted to showcase that in an, albeit simplistic, rpg maker type story.

There's not a whole lot to say about it, I feel. It's very simple, in my opinion, one way or another.

That being said, I hope you'll give it a look if you feel like it. I was (and still am, somewhat!) proud to make a game in rpg maker mv for the first time, and I'm now a bit more comfortable sharing this little game with the public! :> Thank you!
